Upholder/Victoria Class Submarine
Upholder Class Submarine Scale Model
The Upholder Class submarine was developed for the Royal Navy as a modern diesel-electric attack submarine designed to replace the Oberon class. Compact, capable and engineered for North Atlantic operations, the class represented the Royal Navy’s final conventional submarine programme before the transition to an all-nuclear fleet.
Following Royal Navy service, the vessels were transferred to Canada, where they continue to operate as the Victoria Class — extending the legacy of this distinctive and historically significant design.
This Upholder Class submarine scale model is available in 1:100, 1:200, 1:350 and 1:700, offering a range of display options suitable for serious collectors, naval historians and Cold War era enthusiasts.

Historical Significance
The Upholder Class represents a pivotal moment in British naval strategy — bridging traditional diesel-electric submarine design with late Cold War operational doctrine. Its compact hull form, advanced sonar systems and torpedo capability made it a highly capable platform for coastal defence and patrol operations.
For collectors building a Royal Navy or Cold War submarine display, the Upholder Class offers both historical relevance and a distinctive silhouette within a modern fleet collection.
